1. The interest you showed in the topics and works presented was beyond
that of my previous English teachers. You went to great lengths to make
sure the material was understood and it worked. Congratulations.
Also, your knowledge of Star Trek will benefit you greatly in the years to
come.
2. I believe you are an excellent teacher and at times I might believe that the class is hard core, but I know it is only to benefit the student. The only negative thing I could say was sometimes the expectations are high for those of us who aren't English majors, for me it's only a gen. ed. But thank you.
3. I think that she is an excellent teacher. She's very knowledgable and explains very well. She's also very fair. I learned a lot from being in this class.
4. I thought Dr. Arn was a great teacher. She has taught me so much in this class. She gets the point across and creates great images in the minds of the students. She is tough, but she makes you work.
5. I thought the instructor was very knowledgeable, and we were well-informed. However, for freshmen, I feel that this class is not recommendable because of the high level of participation needed to be successful. Overall, the instructor was quite pleasing and does her job extremely well.
6. I think Dr. Arn is a very knowledgable woman. I enjoyed listening to her speak, although I was intimidated by her.
7. I enjoyed the course but felt that it was a bit rushed. Spending only 2 1/2 hours on some books didn't allow enough time to explore them.
8. Although I'll probably fail this class due to my academic irresponsibility, I thought Prof. Arn was an outstanding teacher. I loved to listen to her explanation of texts in class.
9. I felt Mrs. Arn was a good instructor, but the course material was very difficult, especially for freshmen.
10. I learned more in this class than any other class I have ever been in. You are very knowledgeable and have such a passion for what you teach. I enjoyed your class very much. I have learned things that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
11. Dr. Arn has provided this class with all the information and background material necessary . . . and then some. She has fully explained and has had us explain the materials that we have gone over. A superb teacher for both the reluctant & the enthusiastic student. She is understanding & compassionate--while at the same time a difficult teacher who makes you work for your grade.
12. The teacher is very knowledgable about British Literature and is very intelligent. The problem is that what is sometimes obvious to her is not clear to others who have had less experience. I had trouble with the way she gave lectures in class. They did not lend themselves to good notes, and therefore her tests were difficult to study for. Also, I almost always left the class feeling stupid and feeling as if the teacher thought of the class that way. If a student answers wrong, I do not feel that they should be made a fool of for trying. Students just want to know what they did wrong without being insulted so they can do better next time.
13. Dr. Arn is a somewhat intimidating teacher. I, however, admire her dedication and absolute love for the material. Because of her feelings for the material, I became involved emotionally as well. My one major problem is historically. Some students do no have a good capacity for learning and memorizing dates, like myself. Because of the necessity for dates and events, some may not do as well. Dr. Arn is a wonderful teacher. It is too bad the students aren't as wonderful (dedicated) "today."
14. Expects a lot; but that is good; Prof. Arn definitely made sure we did the work for class--pop quizzes. Entertaining made it a lot of fun.
